Who Really Did It?
Although it had not been 100% proven that The West Memphis Three are innocent, there are a few other suspects that there is evidence against. These are a few of the main ones. But since the state has dropped the case, the state will not investigate any further, or pursue any new suspects.
Terry Hobbs
Terry Hobbs is the stepfather of victim Stevie Branch, husband to Pam Hobbs, and he worked in a slaughter house. At first Terry Seemed to be rather quiet through the case. Terry first became a suspect when a hair that could have belonged to either him, or Terry's friend who admitted to being in the woods that night with Terry after changed his alibi several times, was found in one of the knots in the solaces that was used to hogtie the victims. And another hair that was found later in that matched directly to Terry. After his stepson's death, Terry and his wife began to grow apart, and later got divorced after Terry supposedly beat Pam, and shot her brother. And when he was questioned about why he did so, Terry laughed. When reporters asked Pam Hobbs about weather or not she thought that Terry had killed her son, she stated that "He could have." Pam also mentioned that she saw Terry washing clothes that ad red on them with bleach, and stated that this was strange behavior because she had never seem him ever washing clothes before. The last thing that Pam said was that she found a knife that Stevie always had with him, she found in Terry's dresser drawer after the murders. Another relative that had something to say was Terry Hobbs' nephew who stated that Terry Hobbs told him that he murdered his stepson. Stevie's Aunt was questioned next, and she said that before Stevie died, that Stevie would come to her and say the Terry didn't like him, and would ask why he treated him mean. Terry was jealous of Stevie, because his wife payed more attention to him than Terry. (Also Stevie told his Aunt that Terry would make Stevie do some things that I am not going to say in here, because this is a school project) The last relative that had to say something was his daughter. And she said that there was a possibility that Terry could have raped her, but she couldn't say for sure, because she thought it could have been a dream. But she was doing some drugs and taking some medication at the time that made it hard for her to tell the difference between dreams and real life. And lastly, 3 whiteness claimed to have seen the victims with Terry right before the murders occurred. Right Now, Terry Hobbs is the #1 suspect by West Memphis supporters.

John Mark Byers
John Mark Byers is the adoptive stepfather of Christopher Byers. He lived with his wife, and worked as a jeweler. Byers first became a suspect when he gave the HBO filmmakers a knife, that had some blood on the handle of it. The filmmakers handed it over to the court as evidence, and they had the blood tested for DNA, and when they checked, the blood matched one of the victims, his stepson Christopher. And with further examination, the crime lab suggested that some of the wounds on Christopher could have been caused with that knife. Another thing that brought Byers to people's attention was the fact that whenever he talked it seemed rather "rehearsed" and way over the top, and was always the most open with his hatred towards the 3 suspects. And people started suggesting that perhaps Byers was mainly trying to 'play the part' of the grieving father. Another thing that people were observed of, as the size of Byers. He was a very large man, and looked more than capable of murdering three 8 year olds, then carrying their bodies hogtied to a river bank to dispose of the bodies. There was another piece of evidence too. There was what looked like a bite mark above Christopher's eye. Causing suspicions to arose when Byers refused to give in his bite marks. (Damien, Jason and Jessie gave their bite marks, and they didn't match) During the years that had passed since Christopher's death, Christopher's mother died, and rumors started to spread that Byers had killed her because she may have found out something that she wasn't supposed to know, but that was never proven. When Byers wife died, the autopsy reports came back as "inconclusive". The rumors about him possibly having killed his wife, and the 3 boys became so bad, that Byers decided to take a polygraph, which HBO recorded in hopes of clearing his name. But all that did was make things worse, although Byers passed the polygraph test, during a question portion before he was hooked up to the polygraph Byers stated that his wife was "murdered" when only about 20 seconds before this Byers had just stated that she probably had died because of a "drug overdose." this statement is on video around the 1:10:30 mark of the second installment of the HBO documentary series "Paradise Lost." If Byers is guilty, this would not be his first offense, Byers was arrested before, for stealing land, and personal property form a neighbor, and writing a lot of canceled checks. Byers also, apparently made two kids fight while he pointed gun at one of them.

The Bojangles Man
The "Bojangles" man, is an unknown suspect that was first brought up in the very early stages of the case. On the night of the murders, a little while after the time that the victims were predicted to have been murdered at, a large black man covered in mud and blood entered a restaurant just outside of Robbin hood Hills, about 1/2 mile away from where the bodies were found. This suspect was known as the "Bojangles" man. An employee at the restaurant stated that he looked dazed and his clothes and hair were messy, aside from just being covered in mud and blood. The man went into the bathroom and stayed in there about an hour before he left. After the man was gone, the employee went into the bathroom and saw that the man had smeared blood all over the walls. The Bojangles man,, however, was never tracked down, or taken in for questioning. But blood samples were taken of the blood smeared on the walls, but were supposedly "lost" before they could be sent in for testing.
